North Tripura

North Tripura is a district of the Indian state of Tripura. The headquarters of the district is Kailashahar. Its area - 2,470 sq. Km and population - 5,90,655 (2001 census). A lot of tourists come here. Laxmi Narayan Temple, Puran Rajbari, Jampui Mountain and Bhavaratini Temple etc. are well known here.

Laxmi Narayan temple:
Laxmi Narayan temple is situated in the Baghan Nagar of Uttar Tripura district. The main attraction of the temple is the statue of Lord Krishna located here. This idol was founded by Krishnananda Sewaayat 45 years ago. Every year on Janmashtami, Lord Krishna's birthday is celebrated at a grand level.

Puran Rajbari:
This palace was built by Maharaja Indrmanikya. There is also a huge lake Khowar bill located here. This lake is spread over an area of approximately 5 square kilometers. Jampui Mountains:
A unique Orange and Trinity is celebrated on the Jampui Mountain during November every year. A large number of domestic and foreign tourists participate in this festival and enjoy it. Often, there is rain during this time, despite the enthusiasm of this festival can be seen in its tourists. During this season, the sky looks beautiful from the mountain itself. The beautiful view of sunrise and sunset from the Jampui Mountain also attracts tourists more. A view of the villages and beautiful valleys of Mizoram can also be seen from this mountain.

Bhavatarini Temple:
This temple was established in 1981 AD on the occasion of Shiva-Chaturshi. The temple of Lord Shiva and Lord Buddha's statue is located near the Bhavaratini temple. A lot of people come here every year on the occasion of Shiva Chaturdashi and Kali Puja.
