Ghaziabad is a city located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a major industrial center of Uttar Pradesh and North India and is located in the south east of Delhi and Meerut. Ghaziabad district is headquartered in Ghaziabad. Before independence, Ghaziabad district was part of Meerut district, but after getting independence it was made a separate district due to political reasons. Ghaziabad is named after its founder Ghaziuddin, who named him Ghaziuddinagar in his name, but later, his name was reduced to Ghaziabad.
