Sharmila Tagore (born December 8, 1946) is one of the actresses of Hindi and Bengali cinema.

Sharmila Tagore has been a strong actress of Indian films. Sharmila Tagore was born in a Hindu Bengali family in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. His father Gitindranath Tagore was the General Manager of Algine Mills, owner of British India Company.

After marrying former Indian captain Nawab Pataudi, Sharmila Tagore named her Ayesha Sultan.
