Etawah

Itavah is a major city and Lok Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located at Delhi-Calcutta National Highway 2. The city of Etawah is located in the northern India of the western central Uttar Pradesh state. Etawah is situated on the banks of river Yamuna (Jamuna) in the southeast of Agra. There are many potholes in this city. One of which separates the old city (south) from the city (north). Bridges and embankments add both parts.

History
Built in the 16th century in Etawah, the Jami Masjid is built on a high base from the remains of old Hindu buildings. There is also a remnant of 15th-century fortress surrounded by Hindu temples. Etawah's old name is called Ishtikapur. The famous poet of Hindi, Dev was a resident of Etawah. He himself has written - 'Dyasariya kavidev ko Nagar etaviv vas.'

Connected by Etawah Road to many major cities of India. Etawah district is fully connected by road from Gwalior, Agra, Farrukhabad, Mainpuri, Kanpur and Jalan etc.

Industry and trade
The city has important industries and oilseeds of cotton and silk weaving. Paddy mills are also very large in the district. Etawah is also the distribution center of ghee.

Agriculture and minerals
Etawah is situated on the alluvial land excreted by the Yamuna and its tributaries, and this area is irrigated by a canal of Ganga Canal system. The crops here include wheat, corn, barley and thick grains. In this area of giant pits, there is a problem of soil erosion along the rivers. Reconstruction and taxation projects have helped in getting some land back.

Educational institutions of Etawah include Government Inter College, HMS Easlamia Inter College, Karma Sector PG College, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Agricultural Engineering and Technology College.

Tourism
Sumer Singh's Fort, Chambal, Jugaramu Village, Taxi Temple, Babarpur, Bakewar, Chakarnagar, Jasoharan, Ahirpur, Pratap Nagar and Sarasaina are the main tourist destinations. Etawah is also considered to be very important in historical terms. It is known that the Jama Masjid of Etawah was built on the ruins of ancient Buddhist or Hindu temples. The goddess Kukdanpur of Lord Rukomani, Lord Krishna, who is currently known as Kudarkot, is in this district. Here is the famous Kaliyavana temple of this region in the forests of Etawah Bhind Marg, where every year a grand attraction is organized, which attracts tourists from far away.
