Giani Zail Singh (May 5, 1916 - December 25, 1994) was the seventh President of India from 25 July 1982 to 25 July 1987. Giani ji, who was chief minister of Sikh religion, Punjab, crossed the political difficult road of his will, power of integrity, and in 1982 he took the position of the proud President of India. During his tenure till 1987, he had to undergo unfortunate circumstances like the murder of 'Bluestar Operation' and Indira Gandhi.
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (5 September 1888 - 17 April 1975) was the first Vice-President of India (1952-1962) and the second President. He was the conductor of Indian culture, an eminent educationist, a great philosopher and a devout Hindu thinker. Due to these same qualities, in 1954, the Indian government decorated him with the highest honor Bharat Ratna. His birthday (September 5) is celebrated in India as Teacher's Day.
