Indra Kumar Gujral

Indra Kumar Gujral (born: December 4, 1919, Jhelum - death: 30 November 2012, Gurgaon) was the 13th Prime Minister of the Indian Republic. He actively participated in the Indian independence movement and during the Quit India Movement of 1942, he also went to jail. Prior to becoming Prime Minister of India in April 1997, he worked in various positions in the Central Council. He has held important positions such as Communications Minister, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Information Briefing Minister, Foreign Minister and Housing Mantri. Before coming to politics, he had worked for some time as a journalist in the BBC's Hindi service.

In the year 1975, when he was the Information and Broadcasting Minister in Indira Gandhi Government, it was revealed that in 1951 Indira Gandhi used unconstitutional methods to win elections. Indira Gandhi's son Sanjay Gandhi gathered people in Delhi to perform in support of his mother by filling in trucks from Uttar Pradesh and Indra Kumar asked Gujral to get coverage for Doordarshan. Gujral refused to accept it because Sanjay Gandhi did not receive any official status. Of course, he was the son of the prime minister. For this reason, he was removed from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the post was given to Vidyacharyan Shukla. But later in the government of those same Indira Gandhi, as Gujral ambassador to Moscow, in 1980, the Soviet Union opposed interference in Afghanistan. At that time it was a huge change in Indian foreign policy. After that incident, India subsequently opposed political interference in Hungary and Czechoslovakia by the Soviet Union.

personal life:
Gujral's father's name was Avtar Narayan and mother's, Pushpa Gujral. His education started in D.V.V. College, Halley College of Commerce and Forman Christian College, Lahore. In his youth, he joined the Indian Independence Movement and went to jail in 1942 "Quit India" campaign.

In addition to being proficient in Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi, he was also knowledgeable in many other languages and was very interested in Shero Shayari. Gujral's wife Sheila Gujral passed away on July 11, 2011. One of his two sons is Naresh Gujral, a Rajya Sabha member and the other son is huge. Gujral's younger brother Satish Gujral is also a noted painter and architect.

Gujral died on November 30, 2012, at Medaneta Hospital in Gurgaon.

Death after a prolonged illness:
Gujral had been running on dialysis for a long time. After the infection in a chest on November 19, 2012, he was admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon in Haryana. Where their condition went down during treatment. On November 27, 2012, they went unexpectedly. They could not be saved even after much efforts. After all, his soul left his body on 30 November 2012. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha adjourned as soon as the news of their demise got over and the President and Prime Minister of India mourned the announcement of national mourning on this occasion.

His body was taken to his official residence at 5 Janpath New Delhi for the sake of the public. On December 1, 2012, at 3 pm, his funeral was done with full state honor on the intermediate area "Smriti Situation" of Shanti Van and Vijay Ghat.

Many celebrities including President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, senior BJP leader LK Advani and Arun Jaitley were included in the funeral of Gujral.
