Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri

Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, who was Major General (C) N. B. Also known as C. Khanduri (born 1 October 1934) is a member of the Third Assembly of India's Uttarakhand state. Those political parties represent the Dhumakot seat of Uttarakhand assembly as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from March 8, 2007, to June 27, 2009. After the resignation of Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on September 11, 2011, he returned to Uttarakhand Chief Minister.

Mr. Khanduri was born in Dehradun (Uttarakhand) in 1934 and received education at Allahabad University, Military Engineering College (CME), Pune, Institution of Engineers, New Delhi and Institute of Defense Management, Secunderabad.

He served in the Indian Army Corps of Engineers from 1954 to 1990. A special service medal was given to him by the President in 1982 for his special service in the Indian Army.

After retirement, he came to politics and was elected to Lok Sabha from Garhwal area of Uttarakhand in the elections of 1991 and later.

In the government led by Hon'ble Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he has been Minister of State for Road, Transport and Highway Affairs (Independent Charge). In 2003, he was made a Cabinet minister, on which he was made national in May 2004, on which he remained till the change of government of the National Democratic Alliance Government in May 2004. He is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. As a minister, he implemented the prestigious development project of the Bharatiya Janata Party and prepared it efficiently from the National Highway.
