Akhilesh Yadav

Akhilesh Yadav (born July 1, 1, 1973) is an Indian politician who has been the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Prior to that, he has also been a Member of Parliament for three consecutive terms. Akhilesh, son of Samajwadi Party national president Mulayam Singh Yadav, led his party in the 2012 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. After getting a clear majority in the state, his party took an oath of office on March 15, 2012, as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. In 2016, Akhilesh's father and Samajwadi party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav took him out of the party with his uncle Ram Gopal Yadav, but within a day, he got him back in the party.

Brief Biography:
Akhilesh Yadav was born on July 1, 1973, in the Saifai village of Etawah district, Mulayam Singh Yadav's first wife, Malti Devi. His mother died in childhood. Akhilesh is married and is the father of three children. Dimple Yadav is his wife, who has been elected unopposed MP from Kannauj.

Education:
Akhilesh got an education from the Rajasthan Military School, Dhaulpur, he obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering from S.J. College of Engineering, Mysore, later moved abroad and postgraduate from the University of Sydney in Environmental Engineering.

Participation in politics:
Akhilesh achieved success by defeating his nearest rival Bahujan Samaj Party candidate SPZ Bazal by defeating 67,301 votes in Firozabad seat in the May 2009 Lok Sabha by-election. In addition, he also won from Kannauj. Later, he resigned from the Ferozabad seat and kept the Kannauj seat.

As Chief Minister:
By winning 224 seats in the March 2012 assembly election, at the age of 38, he became the 33rd chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. In July 2012 when Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav criticized his work, he suggested a comprehensive reform, the message came in the public that the government was running his father and both uncle, not Akhilesh.

His second blow to the government came when he was criticized for suspending an IAS officer, Durga Shakti Nagpal, from all around. As a result, he had to restore Nagpal. In the Muzaffarnagar riots of 2013, 43 persons were killed and 93 injured, the curfew was imposed, and the army came and took control. His government suffered a major ruckus between the Muslim and Hindu Jats.
