Mulayam Singh Yadav (1939) is an Indian politician who has been a defense minister for three times in Uttar Pradesh, once in the Chief Minister and the Central Government. Currently, it is the guide of the Samajwadi party of India.

personal life:
Mulayam Singh Yadav was born on November 22, 1939, in Saifai village of Etawah district in the farmer family of Murthi Devi and Sudhar Singh. Mulayam Singh is younger than Ratan Singh in his five siblings and Abhayrath Singh, Shivpal Singh, Ram Gopal Singh and Kamla Devi are big ones. Father Sudhar Singh wanted to make him wrestler but after influencing his political mentor Natthusinh in a wrestling contest in Mainpuri, he started his political journey from Nathasinh's traditional assembly constituency Jaswant Nagar.

Prior to joining politics, Mulayam Singh has done teaching work in Inter College for a few days after getting B.Tech from Postgraduate (M.A.) and Jain Inter College, Karahal (Mainpuri) from Agra University.

Mulayam Singh's entry into central politics took place in 1996 when the United Front defeated Congress party and formed the government. In this government headed by HD Deve Gowda, he had been made the Defense Minister, but this government could not move too much and after three years in India, two Prime Ministers were out of power. His opposition to 'Bharatiya Janata Party' seemed to be close to the Congress, but in 1999, the Congress failed to form a government when he did not get the support of his support and the relations between the two parties got bitter. In the 2002 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party had fielded its candidates in 391 seats, whereas in the 1996 elections, it contested only 281 seats.
